Public guide · Updated 5 October 2026
A new starter needs clear expectations, a safe route to ask questions and supervised practice. Access to a CRM and a busy diary are not a complete induction.
Prepare before day one
Confirm the working arrangements, equipment, access and induction owner. Prepare the first week’s schedule and explain who handles questions and escalation. Check that the team understands what the starter will initially own.
Build competence in stages
Start with observing, then supervised practice, then independent work with review. For a negotiator, practise registration and feedback; for property management, practise repair triage and handovers. Base progression on demonstrated understanding rather than elapsed time alone.
Make review dates meaningful
At the end of each week, review a real work sample and agree the next learning priority. Use the 30, 60 and 90-day checkpoints to check role expectations, customer standards and support. Adapt the plan to the person’s experience and actual responsibilities.
Run a 15-minute team exercise
- Select one routine task the starter must perform.
- List what they should observe, practise and demonstrate.
- Choose a work sample and name the person who will review it.
Finish by choosing one change to try this week. Name the owner and review date, and use anonymised examples rather than sharing customer or employee details.
What to review next week
Measure completed learning checks, quality of work samples and confidence in escalation. Pair activity targets with accuracy and customer communication so speed does not mask weak induction.
Manager guide and member resources
This public guide explains the method. Membership adds the monthly team meeting, manager notes and editable resources; the member delivery programme remains separate from these public SEO pages.
